Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain complex Python-based software solutions, data pipelines, and AI/ML systems.
- Manage technical objectives and drive architectural decisions for scalable, maintainable, and efficient systems.
- Collaborate with researchers, portfolio managers, and technical teams across WorldQuant.
- Provide technical leadership, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior team members.
- Research, design, code, test, and deploy firmwide platforms and tooling.
- Explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field from a top-tier institution.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Python developer focused on data engineering and AI/ML systems.
- Expert knowledge of Python and its ecosystem, including Pandas, NumPy, and PySpark.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable, maintainable, and efficient data pipelines.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Expertise with Git, CI/CD practices, and agile methodologies.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical groups.
- Finance industry experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience with PyTorch, scikit-learn, large language models, agents, or systems of agents is a significant plus.
