Responsibilities
- Manage Linux and Windows server infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Plan and execute physical server deployments, including hardware selection, rack planning, and installation across multiple sites.
- Manage the Kubernetes lifecycle, including upgrades, security hardening, and multi-cluster or hybrid environments.
- Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting for Kubernetes workloads to support reliability and performance.
- Maintain system security, patch management, access control, backup strategies, and high availability for critical systems.
- Build automation using configuration management tools and infrastructure as code to reduce manual operations.
- Monitor system health and performance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain system documentation and operational runbooks.
Requirements
- Experienced Platform Engineer with strong Linux and Windows server skills.
- Hands-on experience planning and deploying physical server hardware at sites.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet or Ansible and infrastructure as code.
- Knowledge of system hardening, patch management, access control, backup solutions, and high-availability setups.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V or VMware.
- Service-oriented approach with a focus on reliability, documentation, and usability for other teams.
- Experience with PostgreSQL administration is a plus.
- Based in Germany and willing to travel occasionally to company sites for deployments and support.
