Responsibilities
- Lead cross-cutting reliability initiatives involving infrastructure automation, observability, and incident management
- Improve incident detection, response, and postmortem analysis
- Define and evolve SLO, error-budget, and alerting standards across product teams
- Participate in on-call and improve alert quality, noise reduction, and actionable telemetry
- Mentor and technically coach senior engineers
- Provide technical guidance to leadership and represent reliability in architecture and platform discussions
- Partner with software teams to embed reliability practices early in development
- Guide feature teams through production readiness, launch reviews, and operational standards before go-live
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in SRE, platform engineering, or infrastructure roles in large-scale, multi-team production environments
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Strong containerization and orchestration experience, including Kubernetes deployment and scaling strategies
- Production experience implementing and operating SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets
- Experience managing on-call rotations and leading incident response
- Strong systems engineering background and fluency in at least one backend language such as Go, Python, or Ruby
- Ability to lead through influence, set technical direction, drive consensus, and mentor engineers
- Ability to balance long-term architecture with iterative improvements
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Experience partnering with feature teams on production readiness, launch reviews, and operational standards
- Fluency in English
- Preferred: deep observability expertise, including logging, tracing, metrics, and telemetry pipelines
- Preferred: experience improving instrumentation quality and working in regulated industries such as healthcare or fintech
- Preferred: interest in reliability enablement, golden paths, runbooks, and shared libraries
