Responsibilities

  • Lead large-scale cross-cutting reliability initiatives involving infrastructure automation, observability, and incident management
  • Improve incident detection, response, and postmortem analysis capabilities
  • Define and evolve SLO, error budget, and alerting standards across product teams
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and improve alert quality, noise reduction, and actionable telemetry
  • Mentor and technically coach senior engineers across the company
  • Provide technical guidance to leadership and represent reliability engineering in architecture and platform discussions
  • Partner with software engineering teams to embed reliability practices early in development
  • Guide feature teams through production readiness, launch reviews, and operational standards before go-live

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in SRE, platform engineering, or infrastructure roles in large-scale, multi-team production environments
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms
  • Strong containerization and orchestration experience, including Kubernetes deployment and scaling strategies
  • Production experience implementing and operating SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets
  • Experience managing on-call rotations and leading incident response
  • Strong systems engineering background and fluency in at least one backend language such as Go, Python, or Ruby
  • Ability to set technical direction, drive consensus, and mentor engineers across teams
  • Experience partnering with feature teams on production readiness, launch reviews, and operational standards
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and comfort working in ambiguous environments
  • Fluency in English
  • Preferred experience with observability tooling, logging, tracing, metrics, high-scale telemetry pipelines, and instrumentation quality
  • Interest or experience in regulated environments such as healthcare or fintech
  • Appreciation for reliability enablement, golden paths, runbooks, and shared libraries
