Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable enterprise-grade logistics microservices.
  • Develop Java and Spring Boot services, RESTful APIs, and Kafka-based event-driven integrations.
  • Define engineering standards for secure coding, unit testing, Git branching, and code quality.
  • Lead containerized deployments, CI/CD automation, automated testing, and release readiness.
  • Own production application health through monitoring, alerting, incident triage, and root-cause resolution.
  • Lead integrations across warehouse management, transportation management, slotting, labor management, and distribution center systems.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and third-party vendors, including Manhattan Associates, to develop technical solutions.
  • Identify and deliver AI and automation opportunities for logistics operations, production support, and business-user productivity.
  • Drive Agile sprint planning, estimation, and delivery tracking while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years as a Java Lead.
  • Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale microservices in retail, supply chain, or logistics environments.
  • Experience with Agile delivery and Jira for sprint planning, estimation, and tracking.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics, warehouse management, and distribution center operations.
  • Hands-on experience with Manhattan WMOS, transportation management systems, Manhattan Slotting, and labor management systems.
  • Experience with third-party vendor integrations, integration platforms, and enterprise web services.
  • Extensive experience with Java, JavaEE, Spring Boot, Spring MVC/WebFlux, microservices, and Kafka.
  • Proficiency with RESTful web services, JPA, SLF4J, application configuration management, and relational databases including DB2, SQL Server, and Oracle.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, secure coding standards, Git strategies, and Sonar.
  • Experience with AppDynamics, Splunk, ELK, Grafana, alerting, notification setup, and enterprise integration architectures using Kafka, MQ, TCP/IP, and file systems.
  • Experience using AI tools, AI agents, and automation platforms, with knowledge of responsible AI practices including privacy, security, auditability, compliance, and output validation.
  • Demonstrated situational leadership, stakeholder alignment, business acumen, team mentoring, and delivery of measurable business value.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
