Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated tests for UI, API, database, and end-to-end scenarios.
- Build smoke, functional, regression, integration, and continuous-deployment test suites.
- Evaluate and improve automation frameworks for maintainability, scalability, and execution speed.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and help define test data, environment, and framework strategies.
- Collaborate with software engineers, QA engineers, product managers, and manual testers in Agile teams.
- Track defects through their lifecycle, maintain test results, analyze quality trends, and recommend process improvements.
- Debug test failures and distinguish product defects from test issues.
- Share automation knowledge and contribute to testing strategy, quality practices, and team standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of recent hands-on experience developing UI and API automation with open-source tools.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Strong proficiency with UI automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
- Experience testing SOAP and REST services with Postman, RestAssured, or similar tools.
- Strong object-oriented programming and practical coding skills, with JavaScript/TypeScript or another scripting language such as Python, C#, or Java.
- Experience testing web applications and services built with .NET, C#, Java, ASP, XML, or similar technologies.
- Experience with Git, GitLab, or Azure DevOps, plus CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
- Understanding of QA methods, black-box testing, test design, coverage strategies, quality metrics, and the software development lifecycle.
- Strong debugging, analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Availability to overlap with US timings for at least 4 hours and work in the EST time zone during sprint cycles.
- Preferred qualifications include advanced SQL, BDD frameworks, AWS, test management tools, performance testing, Docker, Kubernetes, security testing, mocking frameworks, test data management, and healthcare or HIPAA experience.
