Base Salary
$155k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own technical strategy for broad or complex engineering requirements and solve large open-ended problems.
- Lead department-wide architecture, design patterns, coding approaches, prototyping, and implementation.
- Review and validate code output from multiple teams and resolve technical conflicts across teams.
- Partner with engineering, product, architecture, design, support, and operations teams to build features and maintain long-term system health.
- Design and develop scalable distributed, SaaS, cloud, and event-driven systems.
- Develop tests to ensure application quality, performance, and scalability.
- Assist with identifying and resolving production issues.
- Lead a broad functional area, direct planning efforts, and serve as a technical leader for cross-functional projects.
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
- Develop and mentor other engineers while influencing stakeholders across departments.
- Support risk management and the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent qualifying experience.
- At least 12 years of relevant experience and at least 9 years developing distributed systems, SaaS, cloud solutions, or microservices.
- At least 8 years of experience with Java and Spring.
- Hands-on Docker experience and proficiency with Maven or Gradle.
- Experience delivering business-critical systems, designing scalable systems, and working with event-driven architecture and messaging frameworks.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure.
- Experience with Java, SpringBoot, and AWS; AWS architecture and migration experience is preferred.
- Experience with Aurora, PostgreSQL, or MySQL databases is preferred.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting systems such as AppDynamics or Grafana is preferred.
- Kubernetes experience and FinTech experience are preferred.
- Knowledge of ACH/EFT, real-time payment networks including RTP and FedNow, mature engineering practices, SDLC best practices, software development methodologies, and DevOps practices.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple departments; background and drug screen required.
