Responsibilities
- Build and improve GCP compute platforms, including Compute Engine, managed instance groups, GKE, and container runtimes.
- Implement GCP networking components such as VPCs, peering, Private Service Connect, Cloud DNS, and load balancing.
- Deliver platform infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
- Improve automation and CI/CD pipelines for platform changes.
- Improve platform reliability, performance, and cost efficiency with senior engineers.
- Participate in incident response and post-incident improvements, including SLO ownership.
- Support application teams consuming compute and networking capabilities.
- Contribute documentation, examples, runbooks, and evolving platform standards.
Requirements
- 3–7+ years of experience in cloud or platform engineering.
- Hands-on production experience with Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong understanding of cloud compute and networking fundamentals.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
- Familiarity with GCP networking primitives including VPCs, firewall rules, and private connectivity.
- Comfort operating Linux-based workloads.
- Experience with AWS or Azure is desirable.
- Production exposure to GKE or Kubernetes is desirable.
- Familiarity with multi-project or landing zone-style setups is desirable.
- Experience in high-availability or security-conscious environments is desirable.
