Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-performing, flexible, and scalable Android solutions running on Toast POS hardware.
- Ship features end-to-end from design through rollout, monitoring, and iteration based on real-world usage.
- Build user experiences using modern Android development best practices.
- Create products and features that improve restaurant guest engagement.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, UX, QA, and Engineering stakeholders and participate in Agile ceremonies.
- Partner with engineers across the company to improve the Android experience at Toast.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java for Android development with hands-on experience shipping production Android apps.
- Solid understanding of modern Android tooling and frameworks.
- Ability to read and integrate with backend services through REST and GraphQL.
- Interest in AI-assisted development and LLM-based agents such as Claude Code or similar tools.
- Strong software development fundamentals, including code quality, unit testing, and clean code.
- Comfort with ambiguity, incremental delivery, collaboration, and evolving workflows with AI tooling.
