Base Salary
$119k - $161k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement motion planning algorithms for non-holonomic autonomous vehicles, including path planning and trajectory optimization.
- Develop multi-agent coordination systems that prevent deadlocks and collisions among vehicles with intersecting trajectories.
- Build fleet planning and dispatch algorithms that dynamically assign trucks based on site-wide operational state.
- Create simulation and visualization tools for validating planning algorithms.
- Optimize planning algorithms for real-time production performance.
- Collaborate with controls engineers to ensure planned paths are executable.
- Debug fleet-level issues using logged data and replay tools.
Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of professional, non-internship software development experience.
- Strong foundation in motion planning algorithms and computational geometry, including collision detection and polygon operations.
- Proficiency in Python and NumPy for numerical computing.
- Understanding of vehicle kinematics and nonholonomic constraints.
- Ability to analyze algorithm complexity and optimize for real-time performance.
- Preferred experience with multi-agent coordination, scheduling, trajectory optimization, graph algorithms, fleet management, or dispatch systems.
- Preferred familiarity with Dubins and Reeds-Shepp curves, GEOS, Shapely, Redis, ZeroMQ, and modern machine learning techniques for planning.
