Base Salary

$150k - $225k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an on-vehicle UDS diagnostic stack running as a Linux userspace application on embedded ARM compute platforms.
  • Develop and maintain embedded C++ software in a real-time-capable HLOS environment.
  • Design and implement unit, integration, and bench-level tests.
  • Own the design and implementation of assigned modules and subsystems.
  • Debug system-level issues involving IPC frameworks, network stacks, and hardware peripherals.
  • Perform code reviews for correctness, edge-case handling, and coding-standard adherence.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to translate system requirements into well-architected software.
  • Manage multiple implementation priorities and communicate blockers or risks.
  • Document diagnostic workflows, test procedures, and integration notes.
  • Begin mentoring junior team members in the diagnostic domain as experience develops.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience, or a master's degree or PhD.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with 1+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in modern embedded C++ including C++14 or later and familiarity with MISRA-C++ coding standards.
  • Experience developing Linux userspace applications on embedded ARM-based platforms.
  • Experience writing and maintaining automated tests, including Python scripting for diagnostic test development.
  • Ability to independently debug issues involving network stacks, IPC frameworks, and hardware peripherals.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-structured, tested, and reviewable software.
  • Preferred experience includes automotive diagnostic protocols such as UDS, ISO 14229, and DoIP, as well as third-party diagnostic stacks.
  • Preferred experience includes ARM TrustZone, OP-TEE, TEE-based security models, gtest, Python, Bazel, Docker, Automotive Ethernet, SOME/IP, and ISO 26262.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States; employment eligibility verification is required.
