Responsibilities
- Manage Kubernetes cluster lifecycles, fleet-wide upgrades, bare-metal provisioning, networking, storage, autoscaling, and disaster recovery planning.
- Operate and scale the on-prem observability stack, including metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, OpenTelemetry collectors, and alerting.
- Build and maintain GitLab CI pipelines, ArgoCD deployments, reusable CI components, secrets integrations, and artifact-management workflows.
- Develop infrastructure automation, configuration management, and self-service tooling for internal teams.
- Onboard trading desks and development teams to the platform, write runbooks and documentation, and help establish a sustainable support model.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles.
- Deep production experience operating Kubernetes, including cluster lifecycle management, troubleshooting, networking, storage, and RBAC.
- Production experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and alerting, plus familiarity with Mimir, Loki, Tempo, Thanos, or OpenTelemetry.
- Experience with ArgoCD, Flux, or similar GitOps tools; CI/CD pipelines; and artifact-management systems.
- Experience with Terraform and/or Ansible for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
- Strong Linux fundamentals, including systemd, networking, storage, and performance troubleshooting.
- Ability to use Go or Python for automation and tooling and to work with YAML and Helm charts.
- Ability to communicate Kubernetes concepts and work directly with trading desks and development teams.
- Preferred qualifications include trading-firm experience, Kubeflow or Airflow experience, advanced Kubernetes networking, Kafka or event-streaming experience, on-premise infrastructure experience, and familiarity with AI coding assistants or AI-assisted operational tooling.
