Responsibilities
- Own the AI platform layer, including the agent runtime, context management, tool execution, evaluation harnesses, and system-behavior prompt engineering.
- Build production systems using LLMs, retrieval, and agent orchestration.
- Develop evaluation pipelines and observability tooling for agent quality, reliability, and production performance.
- Own sandbox behavior and agent runtime logic while partnering with SRE on sandbox infrastructure and capacity.
- Build, evaluate, deploy, monitor, and iterate on AI systems for enterprise workflows.
- Diagnose failures across model behavior, data pipelines, and infrastructure and improve reliability, cost, and latency.
Requirements
- Experience building production AI systems using prompt engineering, context management, tool use, or agent orchestration.
- Demonstrated ownership of ambiguous AI problems through production delivery, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
- Ability to design AI systems that address nondeterministic outputs, context limits, tool failures, reliability, latency, and cost optimization.
- Experience designing evaluation frameworks, failure taxonomies, meaningful test sets, and regression detection.
- Strong hypothesis-driven debugging and diagnosis across model behavior, data pipelines, and infrastructure.
- Sound judgment for build-versus-integrate decisions as AI models and providers evolve.
- Scalable distributed-systems experience is beneficial.
- Security awareness around prompt injection, insecure output handling, and supply-chain risks is beneficial.
- Open-source contributions to AI tooling or infrastructure are beneficial.
