Responsibilities
- Define and drive architecture, technical strategy, and engineering standards for mission-critical applications.
- Lead the design and development of scalable, secure, high-performance Java enterprise solutions.
- Drive cloud-native, microservices, modernization, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and serve as the escalation point for complex architectural challenges.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Business stakeholders to align technology investments with business objectives.
- Mentor senior engineers and promote engineering excellence, innovation, and best practices.
- Evaluate and integrate AI/ML capabilities, AI-powered APIs, and services into enterprise applications and platforms.
- Establish governance, security, privacy, and responsible AI practices for enterprise solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with proven technical leadership.
- Extensive experience designing and delivering large-scale enterprise applications and leading architecture across multiple teams.
- Expert-level experience with Java, J2EE/Jakarta EE, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and distributed computing.
- Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP; Docker; Kubernetes or OpenShift; Kafka; messaging frameworks; API gateways; and high-volume transaction processing systems.
- Experience with Angular for UI development and with application security, scalability, performance optimization, and reliability engineering.
- Experience with payments, financial services, FinTech, regulated industries, enterprise architecture, or large-scale modernization is preferred.
- Understanding of generative AI, large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, AI agents, prompt engineering, and AI-powered APIs and services.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar AI coding assistants.
- Cloud certifications, industry thought leadership, publications, patents, or conference speaking experience are preferred.
