Responsibilities
- Design and evolve the DDC SDK public APIs, abstraction boundaries, versioning, backward compatibility, and deprecation strategy.
- Implement observability software, platform wrappers, packaging, and build-system support across Android Automotive, Linux, and QNX.
- Build configuration retrieval, validation, arbitration, persistence, fallback, and fleet-wide telemetry governance controls.
- Implement dependable telemetry delivery and vehicle-local data access under variable connectivity and resource constraints.
- Benchmark and tune CPU, memory, footprint, and throughput on production target hardware.
- Address cybersecurity, data-protection, certification, sensitive-data handling, and runtime observability controls.
- Partner with integrating platform teams to define requirements, resolve integration issues, and drive SDK adoption.
- Lead code, design, test-case, and release reviews; mentor engineers and contribute to roadmap planning.
- Own unit, integration, bench, and vehicle validation and produce integration guides, configuration references, design documents, and operational runbooks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of embedded software development or systems engineering across Android, Linux, and/or QNX.
- Strong modern C/C++ programming skills and platform-level integration experience.
- Experience designing and maintaining libraries, SDKs, or APIs used by other engineering teams, including versioning and backward compatibility.
- Working knowledge of OpenTelemetry or comparable metrics, traces, and logs instrumentation frameworks.
- Experience designing fleet-scale telemetry and remote-control capabilities and developing software under CPU, memory, and throughput constraints.
- Clear technical communication, cross-team collaboration, and design-documentation skills.
- Preferred: control-plane and data-plane integration experience, Android Automotive with Java/Kotlin and JNI, cross-platform builds with CMake, Bazel, Yocto, or Android NDK, protobuf/gRPC, automotive cybersecurity and privacy certification, observability open-source contributions, and automotive ECU, SoC, diagnostics, and crash-analysis familiarity.
