Responsibilities
- Assess technical feasibility and scope enterprise AI engagements for delivery within 8 to 12 weeks.
- Own architecture decisions involving model selection, hosting, data residency, security, identity and access, network isolation, integrations, and reuse.
- Write technical proposal and statement-of-work sections and support measurable commercial outcomes.
- Represent ConveneAI in client architecture, security, and vendor review boards.
- Run architecture reviews and governance gates across live delivery pods and manage technical escalations.
- Monitor inference cost, latency, reliability, observability, and failure modes across engagements.
- Own the reference architecture and accelerator library and establish standards for agent design, evaluation, security, and cost management.
- Mentor GenAI and Data Engineers through design and code review and support technical hiring and career development.
Requirements
- 10 or more years building and shipping enterprise software, including at least 2 years with production LLM or agentic systems used by real users.
- Track record as technical owner across multiple concurrent client engagements.
- Hands-on capability with Python, cloud architecture, distributed systems, and API and integration design.
- Production experience with agent architectures, enterprise-scale retrieval, evaluation, observability, cost-per-task analysis, latency, and AI-system failure modes.
- Enterprise architecture experience covering identity and access, security posture, data residency, network isolation, and model hosting.
- Ability to communicate credibly with client executives, architecture review boards, and hands-on engineers.
- Commercial understanding of fixed-fee engagement economics and the judgment to reject undeliverable deals.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada and willing to travel to client sites.
- Experience at a consultancy or systems integrator, or as a Field CTO or principal architect at an AI, data, or cloud platform vendor, is preferred.
- Experience with regulated-industry systems such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, core banking, or clinical platforms is preferred.
- Experience with self-hosted or open-weight models, fine-tuning, distillation, private inference, reference architectures, accelerator libraries, or scaling delivery organizations is preferred.
- Published applied-AI architecture writing, conference talks, or open-source work is preferred.
