Base Salary
$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable distributed-system components and large-scale data processing capabilities.
- Develop fault-tolerant systems with redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
- Implement performance, load, fault-injection, brown-out, and functional testing.
- Build alarms, dashboards, telemetry, and alerting systems to monitor component health.
- Draft and execute runbooks, troubleshoot operational issues, and participate in incident response and root-cause investigations.
- Develop automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code tooling for cloud infrastructure troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Apply encryption, access controls, remediation plans, compliance standards, documentation practices, and change-management procedures.
- Collaborate across teams, manage timelines with limited supervision, solve standard and non-standard problems, and contribute to continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Senior software engineering experience focused on distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, deployment orchestration, operational automation, or reliability.
- Experience designing systems for scalability, resiliency, availability, operability, and large-scale data retrieval, storage, and processing.
- Experience with replication, synchronization, fault tolerance, recovery-oriented design, performance testing, monitoring, alerting, and incident management.
- Ability to develop automation and Infrastructure as Code tooling and apply cloud security and compliance controls.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate across teams, troubleshoot complex systems, and review implementations for scalability.
