Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable software components and services using Golang, microservices, REST, and gRPC APIs.
  • Optimize Cloud PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL applications through schema design, query optimization, indexing, performance tuning, and scalability improvements.
  • Develop Kubernetes-native applications, containerized services, Helm charts, custom resources, and controllers.
  • Troubleshoot application, Kubernetes, cloud, Linux, and networking issues and deliver durable production fixes.
  • Improve development, testing, CI/CD, deployment, operational-support, observability, automation, and developer-productivity workflows.
  • Write unit, integration, functional, and regression tests and author design documents, technical proposals, test plans, runbooks, and operational documentation.
  • Enhance monitoring and observability with metrics, logging, tracing, alerting, dashboards, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Own significant features or services through requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Lead technical discussions, participate in design and code reviews, mentor engineers, and contribute to architecture and customer-impact decisions.
  • Use approved AI-assisted tools responsibly for code exploration, test generation, debugging, documentation, and routine automation with human validation and review.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software-development experience owning production-quality software.
  • Expertise in Golang, including concurrency, error handling, testing, profiling, and performance optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with microservices, distributed systems, REST/gRPC APIs, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
  • Proficiency with Cloud PostgreSQL or Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, including data modeling, schema design, SQL optimization, indexing, and query-performance tuning.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, IPsec, VPNs, routing, and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix environments, production deployment, monitoring, incident response, root-cause analysis, CI/CD, source control, automated testing, code reviews, and Agile development practices.
  • Practical knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, metrics collection, monitoring, alerting, dashboard creation, and cloud-native observability.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions, collaborate across time zones, mentor engineers, and communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
