Responsibilities
- Own Mollie’s architecture, ensuring long-term scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Set the vision and strategy for a scalable architecture in the Business Banking domain.
- Drive technical strategic decisions in cross-functional teams.
- Define standards, patterns, and best practices for scalable development.
- Identify bottlenecks and propose solutions to enhance team efficiency.
- Partner with engineering leaders to enable distributed feature ownership.
- Mentor engineers and facilitate technical growth through coaching and design reviews.
Requirements
- 15+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong experience in Java and/or PHP for building distributed systems.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and migration trajectories.
- Proven experience in building platform foundations for other teams.
- Led teams of engineers on large cross-functional projects.
- Strong understanding of testing, release safety, and operational excellence.
- Ability to influence and align engineering leaders across teams.
- Track record of mentoring senior engineers and driving technical change.
- Experience in high-reliability or regulated environments, preferably fintech.
