Responsibilities
- Build, operate, and scale customer-facing backend features for the Genesys Cloud Event Data Platform.
- Design and implement Java and Spring Boot backend systems, event-driven architectures, REST APIs, and scalable database access patterns.
- Deploy and ship software using cloud technologies and modern CI/CD processes.
- Implement unit, integration, and user-acceptance testing approaches.
- Maintain services end to end, including technical design, production observability, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Develop resilient distributed systems using patterns such as circuit breakers, bulkheads, rate limiting, and retries.
- Contribute to customer segmentation and predictive engagement capabilities for customer journey orchestration.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, QA, and other cross-functional teams.
- Adopt agentic AI tools and integrations, including Agents, Skills, and MCPs, to improve engineering workflows and product capabilities.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of industry experience in software engineering.
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency with Java and Spring Boot or similar languages and frameworks for backend systems.
- Experience with unit, integration, and user-acceptance testing.
- Experience implementing event-driven architecture patterns and REST APIs.
- Experience deploying and managing software with cloud technologies and modern CI/CD processes.
- Experience building databases and designing scalable, efficient access patterns.
- Awareness of modern AI technologies and their implications for safety, privacy, and reliability.
- Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, communication, collaboration, and independent execution skills.
- Preferred experience with agentic AI systems, AWS services, NoSQL databases, distributed microservices, observability, infrastructure as code, performance optimization, and production troubleshooting.
- Preferred experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, Python, and Groovy.
