Responsibilities
- Build and operate a continuously available large-scale event streaming platform with Kafka and Flink.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, strategic influence, and consultancy across the engineering organization.
- Build modules, SDKs, DSLs, and documentation to help teams publish data and deploy streaming applications.
- Implement infrastructure for users to build, host, monitor, and deploy streaming applications.
- Translate requirements and architecture initiatives into executable action plans.
- Support event-based systems through incident triage and root cause analysis.
Requirements
- Strong presentation and communication skills with a record of influencing engineering organizations.
- Strong engineering background with experience implementing and owning event streaming platforms.
- Hands-on experience with stream technologies, ideally Kafka, and experience designing and implementing Flink stream-processing applications.
- Experience with AWS services including MSK, S3, Lambda, ECS, and SNS.
- Experience with Kubernetes, SQL databases, Docker, container deployment and management, Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent programming skills in at least one of Java or Python.
