Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable integrations between Unreal Engine and the proprietary global studio pipeline.
- Develop and deliver high-quality artist-facing realtime tools for workflows ranging from layout to final pixels.
- Lead and mentor a small sub-team of developers, provide technical guidance, and conduct code reviews.
- Oversee requirements gathering, scoping, development, and delivery of realtime tools while managing milestones.
- Translate creative and production requirements from VFX Supervisors and HODs into actionable technical tasks.
- Collaborate with other Technology groups to integrate realtime initiatives into the broader studio software infrastructure.
- Promote technical documentation, testing protocols, and CI/CD practices for production-critical tools.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading small technical teams or serving as a Lead Developer on complex multi-person projects.
- Expert-level Unreal Engine knowledge, including C++ and Blueprints, with a strong understanding of the engine’s inner workings.
- Extensive professional experience with C++ and Python in Linux and Windows environments.
- Experience working in and leading Agile/Scrum environments and managing competing priorities and stakeholder expectations.
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and artists.
- A proactive problem-solving approach and ability to deliver stable solutions under production pressure.
- A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with Virtual Production, VFX, Feature Animation, USD, OpenColorIO, Houdini, Maya, Nuke, Katana, multi-user Unreal development, Perforce, or Git is preferred.
