Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of scalable, resilient backend services in Java and Spring Boot.
- Design and operate distributed, microservices-based and event-driven systems using Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
- Apply domain-driven design to model complex financial domains and build maintainable systems.
- Architect and optimize PostgreSQL and other relational database systems for performance, reliability, and data integrity.
- Collaborate with Product, Implementation, Solutions Engineering, and Business Development on partner integrations.
- Influence architecture decisions and platform improvements across teams and maintain high engineering standards.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning.
- Mentor engineers and help grow technical capability across the organization.
Requirements
- Extensive production experience building backend systems with Java and Spring Boot or similar languages and frameworks.
- Strong experience designing and operating large-scale microservices architectures and distributed systems.
- Experience building or operating event-driven systems with Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and data integrity.
- Experience with domain-driven design is a plus.
- A strong product mindset and customer-focused, data-driven approach to problem solving.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Strong communication, leadership, mentoring, and cross-team technical-influence skills.
