Base Salary
$280k - $577k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define the long-term technical strategy and architecture for Homefeed, Search, and AI Assistant.
- Drive a multi-year roadmap for unifying signals, features, and models.
- Lead the design and adoption of large-scale retrieval and ranking systems.
- Architect integration of LLMs and foundation models with core discovery stack.
- Set technical direction for experimentation and evaluation frameworks.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership on high-leverage projects.
- Partner with Product, Data Science, Research, and Design teams.
- Raise the bar for engineering excellence in ML systems.
- Represent Pinterest externally in relevant domains.
- Balance hands-on technical work with long-term strategy development.
Requirements
- 15+ years of industry experience in large-scale systems and/or machine learning.
- Proven experience as a Distinguished Engineer or equivalent senior technical leader.
- Deep expertise in large-scale retrieval and ranking, representation learning, or search systems.
- Demonstrated ability to drive multi-year architectural transformations at scale.
- Strong product intuition and experience partnering with PM/Design/Data Science.
- Exceptional communication skills for articulating strategy and technical direction.
- Passion for mentoring and building strong engineering cultures.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
