Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and execute manual and automated test cases based on software requirements.
- Automate test cases using Python.
- Develop and maintain test environments and test objects in a laboratory setting.
- Detect, analyze, and report defects using Jira.
- Test embedded software for DECT and WiFi handsets for functionality, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders across teams and countries to translate requirements into robust test suites.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and stay current with relevant technologies and technical developments.
- Conduct work in accordance with Ascom’s values, environmental standards, and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Software Engineering, or a similar field.
- 3–5 years of experience in a similar software testing role.
- Expertise in test equipment, test engineering, and software testing methodologies.
- Experience creating test cases and testing complex systems with multiple integrations.
- Solid experience implementing tests in Python and familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks.
- Knowledge of telecommunications, IT, IP networks, and WiFi.
- Ability to troubleshoot systematically and identify defects in test objects.
- ISTQB Foundation certification is a plus.
- Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
