Responsibilities
- Design and implement data quality frameworks and scalable software solutions for customers and product teams.
- Architect, develop, deploy, and maintain high-volume heterogeneous data pipelines and enterprise data lakes.
- Define, standardize, and optimize data ingestion patterns with enterprise source-system teams.
- Build reusable frameworks, components, and reporting and analytics capabilities to reduce manual effort.
- Develop and maintain monitoring and observability frameworks for reliable and scalable data pipelines.
- Contribute to CI/CD, engineering standards, templates, frameworks, technology evaluations, and vendor proof-of-concepts.
- Participate in support rotations, product planning, implementation, requirements gathering, and technical problem solving.
- Provide technical guidance, training, coaching, and domain expertise to junior engineers.
- Participate in recruiting, interview panels, technical strategy, and building the technology organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Applied Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as a data engineer, specialist, consultant, or in a closely related occupation.
- At least five years of experience with Hadoop, Spark, Spark Streaming, Kafka, Hive, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Snowflake, Databricks, IICS, Informatica PowerCenter, and Zena.
- At least five years of experience designing and architecting data pipelines and interacting with clients for requirements gathering and specification finalization.
- At least three years of experience with Python and Scala.
- Demonstrable experience with star-schema data warehouse modeling, Snowflake and Databricks data modeling, reusable frameworks, test cases, proof-of-concepts, data analysis, optimized pipelines, enterprise data lakes, data architecture strategy, and reporting and analytics components.
