Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable SAP MDG solutions using core and advanced ABAP.
- Configure SAP MDG data models, user interfaces, validation rules, derivations, and related components.
- Design and enhance SAP MDG workflows, including approval flows, routing rules, substitution rules, and task controls.
- Perform functional analysis, gather requirements, map current and target master data processes, and translate needs into technical solutions.
- Configure SAP MDG for customer, vendor, material, and finance data domains.
- Optimize performance through ABAP coding practices, code reviews, and data-access tuning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams through design sessions, solution walkthroughs, and defect triage.
- Create solution design specifications, configuration guides, and operational documentation.
- Support integrations between SAP MDG and surrounding systems by analyzing interfaces, data flows, and mappings.
- Identify automation and simplification opportunities and propose continuous improvements.
- Investigate defects and incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective changes.
- Provide functional demonstrations and support user enablement for SAP MDG processes.
Requirements
- Six to ten years of experience in SAP MDG and related technical delivery.
- Strong SAP ABAP for MDG experience, including custom enhancements, user exits, and data validation logic.
- Proven experience designing and customizing SAP MDG workflows, approval chains, substitution rules, and task configurations.
- Hands-on SAP MDG functional expertise with change request types, data models, and process variants.
- Deep knowledge of SAP MDG configuration, including entity types, attributes, reuse structures, and validation frameworks.
- Advanced ABAP skills for complex data transformations, enhancement spots, and reusable utilities.
- Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and technical peers in a hybrid work setup.
- SAP Certified Development Associate ABAP with SAP NetWeaver preferred.
- SAP MDG-related certifications preferred where available.
