Responsibilities
- Design and build ML/LLM solutions for data ingestion, knowledge extraction, retrieval, reasoning, and data alignment.
- Create datasets, metrics, and pipelines that drive measurable system improvements.
- Architect and improve agents using prompt engineering, model selection, and inference optimization.
- Establish MLOps practices for orchestration, observability, and experiment tracking.
- Collaborate with the engineering team on system design and with JetBrains Research on the research agenda.
- Define hiring criteria, grow the ML team, and shape its culture.
Requirements
- Proven track record as an ML/AI Lead.
- At least five years of experience in ML/AI systems, including at least two years focused on LLMs and generative AI.
- Deep understanding of LLM ecosystems, model architectures, and fine-tuning approaches.
- Hands-on experience with prompt engineering, LLM pipeline design, evaluation, agentic frameworks, vector databases, RAG patterns, and deployment of LLM-powered applications.
- Strong Python skills; Kotlin knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in written and verbal English.
- Preferred experience includes ontologies, knowledge graphs, graph-based reasoning, early-stage startups, product-led AI, code analysis, developer tools, software engineering research, multi-agent systems, open-source contributions, or relevant publications.
