Responsibilities
- Manage, build, and maintain cloud-based database infrastructure.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database systems to ensure performance objectives are met.
- Implement automation processes to reduce operational toil.
- Collaborate with engineering and SRE teams for database support on new products.
- Provide database expertise for migrations, performance optimizations, and standard configurations.
- Assist in performance troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience with relational database systems, including 3+ years at a senior or lead level.
- 2+ years in a Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE) or Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Proficiency in coding and automation.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible and Terraform.
- Experience with source control systems such as GIT.
- SQL Server experience preferred; MySQL and PostgreSQL are nice to have.
- Experience managing very large databases (VLDBs) and a large number of databases.
