Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain reliable Java backend services supporting trading applications and workflows.
Own technical topics from requirements clarification and solution design through implementation, deployment, and production follow-up.
Contribute to system architecture and improvements in scalability, reliability, maintainability, performance, observability, and automation.
Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and support high-availability business-critical systems.
Build and maintain REST APIs, service-to-service integrations, FIX-based interfaces, and asynchronous or event-driven integrations.
Manage data consistency, transactions, error handling, retries, failure recovery, and safe database changes.
Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code reviews and technical solution reviews.
Collaborate with engineering, product, support, and other technical teams on dependencies, risks, and implementation approaches.
Mentor less experienced engineers and contribute to technical discussions, grooming, planning, incident analysis, and retrospectives.

At least 7 years of professional experience with Java and its ecosystem.
Strong backend software development experience, including object-oriented programming, clean code, software design, and design patterns.
Experience designing and developing REST APIs and service-to-service integrations.
Strong understanding of concurrency, multithreading, transaction management, error handling, and application resilience.
Strong SQL and relational database knowledge, including troubleshooting and safe database changes.
Experience with automated unit and integration testing, code review, version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.
Experience modifying complex or legacy systems and troubleshooting issues across applications, databases, and integrations.
Ability to assess technical trade-offs, propose pragmatic solutions, communicate clearly, and work autonomously across teams.
Experience with Kafka or other asynchronous messaging platforms, Spring or Spring Boot, containerized applications, orchestration platforms, monitoring, observability, or production diagnostics is beneficial.
Financial services, brokerage, trading platform, capital markets, FIX protocol, electronic trading, high-availability, low-latency, or agentic-model experience is beneficial.
