  • Align domain leads, program management, product owners, and engineering teams on system-level behavior, constraints, and dependencies.
  • Build lightweight proofs of concept and validate architectural ideas and new technologies through practical experimentation.
  • Communicate architectural decisions to executive stakeholders, engineering leaders, technical leads, and engineers.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of software engineering experience, including significant time in architectural roles.
  • Proven experience designing distributed systems across cloud and application layers.

  • Strong understanding of modern software architecture patterns and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Preferred: experience in hardware-software or IoT environments, mobile and SDK-based architectures, legacy-system modernization or migration, AI-assisted development, and pragmatic implementable architecture.

Benefits

  • Hybrid role with strong on-site presence, typically three days per week in Bristol.
