Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers across Xero to create and deliver customer software
- Model engineering excellence and support the team’s technical growth
- Shape the technical direction of the product group and drive multi-year product or platform goals
- Break down silos and solve customer problems through data-driven decisions and system simplification
- Design secure, scalable distributed architectures and manage software at scale
- Coach and mentor engineers
- Lead incident responses, resolve failure patterns, and guide quality testing strategies
Requirements
- Expertise designing secure, scalable distributed systems and managing software at scale
- Proficiency with C#, React, and AWS
- Experience coaching and mentoring engineers to build technical capability
- Ability to communicate complex technical ideas and build alignment
- Ability to lead incident responses, resolve failure patterns, and guide quality testing strategies
- Collaborative approach to problem-solving and willingness to encourage diverse perspectives
