Responsibilities
- Design, build, and continuously improve batch and data-processing capabilities on the Mobius platform.
- Contribute to platform architecture and scalable capabilities for growing organisational data needs.
- Translate internal data requirements into reliable, production-ready solutions.
- Own monitoring, alerting, logging, observability, and incident response for data workloads.
- Participate in code reviews and promote strong engineering standards and knowledge sharing.
- Improve tooling, processes, and developer experience for teams building on Mobius.
- Contribute to team planning and prioritisation and collaborate across internal and external teams.
Requirements
- Strong coding skills in Python, Java, or Scala and experience building reliable production software at scale.
- Hands-on experience with data-transformation tools such as Spark and DBT is advantageous.
- Experience deploying and operating data workloads on Kubernetes-native platforms across cloud environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of Golang is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Apache Iceberg and schema management using catalogs such as AWS Glue is advantageous.
- Knowledge of AWS data and messaging services including S3, Glue ETL, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, and Redis.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience querying large-scale datasets with engines such as Athena is advantageous.
- Experience orchestrating and scheduling data workflows, including pipeline dependency management principles such as Airflow, is advantageous.
- Experience establishing application monitoring, logging, and alerting for operational excellence and incident response.
- Collaborative, growth-oriented approach and ability to build strong relationships across teams.
