Responsibilities
- Influence enterprise-wide technical strategy, architectural principles, engineering standards, and modernization initiatives across products and teams.
- Architect, develop, and deliver production AI capabilities involving Large Language Models, RAG, AI agents, MCP, and agentic workflows.
- Write, review, test, and deploy complex production code using Java, Spring Boot, APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native platforms.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for difficult engineering and production challenges while improving scalability, security, reliability, performance, observability, and maintainability.
- Establish engineering practices for quality, automation, DevSecOps, testing, delivery efficiency, and responsible AI-assisted development.
- Mentor Principal Engineers, senior developers, architects, and emerging technical leaders while influencing decisions without direct reporting authority.
- Partner with Engineering, Product, Architecture, Security, executive leadership, and globally distributed teams to translate innovation into measurable outcomes.
Requirements
- 15+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering complex enterprise software products and platforms.
- Experience operating as a Distinguished Engineer, Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, Chief Architect, or equivalent senior technical individual contributor.
- Exceptional hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and enterprise application architecture.
- Deep experience designing and delivering scalable, secure, and reliable enterprise SaaS platforms and leading initiatives across multiple teams or product areas.
- Proven experience building and delivering AI-powered software capabilities in production, including practical experience with AI-assisted development workflows.
- Experience with Large Language Models, RAG, AI agents, MCP, or comparable AI frameworks.
- Deep understanding of AWS or Azure, including cloud architecture, distributed systems, and AI integration capabilities.
- Extensive experience with Kubernetes, containers, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and DevSecOps.
- Strong understanding of enterprise security, application performance, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve complex technical challenges, influence architectural direction, mentor senior contributors, and communicate with executive and technical stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with Salesforce technologies, APIs, metadata, Salesforce DevOps workflows, release automation, data protection, regulated industries, security-sensitive environments, and major architectural modernization initiatives.
- Preferred evidence of major engineering contributions through open-source projects, publications, patents, industry recognition, or equivalent achievements.
