Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable Java/Kotlin microservices for high-traffic, highly available global systems.
- Implement service-to-service communication, orchestration, fault tolerance, and secure coding practices.
- Collaborate with data scientists and product managers on data pipelines, analytics platforms, and event-driven architectures.
- Ensure growth data is accurate, reliable, and accessible for data-driven decision-making.
- Partner with frontend, product, design, and marketing teams to translate business needs into backend solutions.
- Participate in architectural reviews, code reviews, and strategy sessions.
- Develop services supporting rapid A/B testing, feature toggles, and real-time performance monitoring.
- Improve backend functionality to reduce friction, increase engagement, and drive conversions.
- Identify vulnerabilities and implement robust authentication, authorization, security, and compliance measures.
- Act as a technical bar raiser, mentor peers, share knowledge, and lead projects to successful outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science or an engineering-related major.
- 5+ years of experience in modern engineering practices focused on continuous integration and quality engineering.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and a solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
- Experience with domain-driven design and event-driven architectures.
- Deep experience with high-throughput, low-latency, highly available distributed systems.
- Cloud experience with GCP or AWS, including services such as EC2, RDS, ELB, and CloudFront, plus Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus.
- Experience with JVM-based programming in Java or Kotlin and familiarity with Spring or Spring Boot.
- Experience solving go-to-market operations end-to-end is preferred.
- Knowledge of data warehousing, customer segmentation, and analytics tools is preferred.
- Familiarity with building internal or customer-facing products with AI and LLMs is preferred.
