Responsibilities
- Own features through scoping, development, shipping, iteration, and completion.
- Contribute to technical architecture and system design decisions involving scalability, data modeling, and service boundaries.
- Collaborate with Product and occasionally customers to understand problems and design suitable solutions.
- Maintain code quality through reviews, early issue detection, and engineering standards.
- Mentor junior engineers through pairing, feedback, and context sharing.
- Monitor, debug, and improve the stability and performance of developed systems.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience in a backend-heavy environment.
- Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
- Comfort working across the full stack with React and SQL.
- Solid system design fundamentals, including scalability, data modeling, and service boundaries.
- Clear communication with non-engineers about technical trade-offs and timelines.
- Ability to work independently through ambiguity and break down complex problems.
- Enjoyment of working in a small, high-ownership early-stage company.
