Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize real-time, high-throughput services that ingest, validate, and route telemetry events.
- Implement durable ingestion with delivery guarantees, backpressure, persistent buffering, and graceful degradation.
- Drive architecture for the data collection platform, including schema management and shared libraries for metrics, tracing, and configuration.
- Lead design reviews, write technical documentation, and mentor engineers.
- Own production services, participate in a shared on-call rotation, and manage incidents.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience building backend services running in production.
- Deep expertise in modern Java 17+ and Spring Boot, including concurrency, the Java Memory Model, and performance profiling.
- Strong distributed-systems fundamentals, including event-driven architecture, delivery semantics, and failure handling.
- Experience operating large-scale services with Docker, Kubernetes, and message brokers, preferably Apache Kafka, on AWS or another major cloud.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and production observability.
- Proficiency in agentic engineering and AI coding agents.
- Fluent English.
- Preferred experience with Project Reactor, Spring WebFlux, Netty, telemetry, analytics, high-volume data ingestion, schema registries, compatible schema evolution, OAuth 2.0, JWT, network and cloud security, and GDPR.
