Base Salary
$100k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build systems to schedule and coordinate experiments across distributed laboratory environments.
- Connect AI agents to experiments and instruments through reliable infrastructure.
- Develop data systems capturing system state, actions, measurements, failures, and provenance.
- Design distributed systems coordinating software, devices, and experiments reliably.
- Create developer tools and APIs for new workflows and integrations.
- Debug and optimize across software, hardware, and physical systems.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience building production-grade software systems end to end.
- Strong proficiency in Python or Rust and solid engineering fundamentals.
- Experience designing distributed systems, APIs, networking, and asynchronous communication patterns.
- Experience building software at an early-stage startup and taking ownership in an ambiguous environment.
- Background in robotics, physical AI, hardware integration, lab automation, embedded systems, AI agents, or ML infrastructure is valuable.
- Ability to integrate and debug across hardware, firmware, and software layers.
- Biology experience is not required.
