Responsibilities

Develop robust software for testing and mission operations.
Contribute across the full software development lifecycle from design through deployment.
Build scalable distributed systems supporting expanding mission activities.
Develop backend and frontend systems, including real-time data processing and ingestion.
Collaborate with testing, engineering, operations, flight controllers, and engineering teams to address operational needs.
Write performant, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Ensure reliability through automated testing and operational validation.
Support users and improve development workflows and tooling.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering culture.

Experience with backend development using Python and/or Ruby on Rails.
Frontend experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue.js.
Familiarity with object-oriented programming, design principles, and software design patterns.
Experience with message brokers or event streaming systems such as Redis Streams or Kafka.
Experience building real-time data processing and ingestion systems.
Familiarity with object storage such as MinIO or AWS S3 for large datasets.
Experience with version control systems such as Git.
Familiarity with automated testing frameworks.
Ability to design, build, and maintain scalable distributed systems.
Understanding of software engineering best practices.
Experience in agile software development environments.
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and ability to balance quality with delivery speed.
Motivation to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Bonus: experience with relational or time-series databases, AWS or Azure, containerization and CI/CD pipelines, or the space industry and other safety-critical domains.
