Responsibilities

  • Design and build scalable data processing systems and ETL pipelines for terabytes of advertising data.
  • Develop backend APIs and data-processing services using Python or Go.
  • Architect data flows supporting batch and real-time analytics requirements.
  • Optimize data processing and query performance for large-scale advertising datasets.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, data-quality controls, and high-availability practices.
  • Manage AWS infrastructure with Terraform and maintain automation and deployment practices.
  • Create and manage analytics dashboards and data visualizations for complex insights.
  • Lead data engineering projects from requirements gathering through delivery.
  • Collaborate with analysts, product managers, business stakeholders, and technical teams.
  • Mentor team members, present technical concepts, challenge requirements constructively, and serve as a knowledge leader.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of data engineering experience leading complex projects from conception to delivery.
  • Very strong hands-on experience with AWS services including S3, Lambda, Glue, Athena, Redshift, and EMR.
  • Proficiency with Apache Spark for large-scale data processing.
  • Strong Python experience for data-processing services and APIs, with Go experience also relevant.
  • Expert-level SQL skills for data processing and analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Terraform.
  • Experience designing scalable data architectures, data models, and optimized processing workflows.
  • Experience creating and managing dashboards with Tableau, Qlik Sense, Quicksuite, or Power BI.
  • Strong knowledge of analytics and reporting requirements and comprehensive software testing.
  • Commitment to clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with contextual and prompt engineering using GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar AI assistants is beneficial.
