Responsibilities
- Design and evolve PostgreSQL schemas, queries, indexes, and database performance.
- Build backend integrations with external systems, APIs, and workflows.
- Improve backend latency, throughput, fault tolerance, maintainability, and technical debt.
- Write clean, well-tested code and contribute to migration, documentation, and testing standards.
- Participate in monitoring, debugging, incident response, and reliability improvements.
- Collaborate with Product, Client Operations, Compliance, Security, and engineering teams to deliver business- and regulatory-compliant features.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working as a software engineer with strong backend development experience.
- Strong TypeScript skills.
- Strong PostgreSQL experience including schema design, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Understanding of backend performance, maintainability, refactoring, and technical debt management.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and participate in technical discussions and design reviews.
- Comfort working in English and collaborating across teams.
- Bonus: experience with Prisma, Next.js, GraphQL, urql, Apollo, AWS, S3, RDS, Elastic Beanstalk, Docker, Kubernetes, Jest, Cucumber, Playwright, Kotlin, or Spring.
- Bonus: experience in regulated industries such as healthcare or finance and interest in mentoring others.
