Principal Software Engineer - LS.LPC, Hextech, Automation

- Define and drive the technical vision for core automation frameworks across the League of Legends ecosystem.
- Build reliable and scalable frameworks supporting testing across gameplay mechanics, skin development, and other initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering, QA, and cross-functional partners across Riot to align quality frameworks and workflows.
- Contribute to and guide technical discussions and designs owned by the team.
- Ensure features address code quality, extensibility, modularity, scalability, security, operational concerns, and industry standards.
- Mentor Rioters and promote a creative, accountable environment focused on player value.
- Participate in the team’s support rotation.
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with compiled programming languages such as C/C++, Java, Go, or C#.
- 4+ years of experience using computer vision to support automation tests.
- 3+ years of experience with C/C++ across varied use cases and platforms.
- Extensive experience using machine learning, AI, and/or functional testing techniques to improve automated testing workflows, including test prioritization, anomaly detection, and adaptive regression coverage.
- Experience leading organization-sized efforts with one-year-or-longer scope, including requirements gathering, planning, testing, and release or deployment.
- Experience championing software development practices including design and code reviews, coding standards, source control management, testing, delivery performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Strong history of mentoring others in both technical and interpersonal skills.
- Player empathy and a personal relationship with games are valued.
