Base Salary
$171k - $231k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement SDK and reference-service features on both device and agent sides.
- Build reference applications and demonstrations connecting AI agents to physical devices across edge and cloud environments.
- Develop evaluation harnesses for the reliability, latency, and correctness of agent-to-device interactions.
- Maintain development hardware including single-board computers, cameras, sensors, robot platforms, and edge servers.
- Improve the platform’s identity, authorization, observability, security, and safe-failure capabilities.
- Write documentation, samples, and learning materials while supporting the open-source developer community.
- Collaborate with architects, product managers, and partner engineers on requirements, API design, and release quality.
Requirements
- Professional software engineering experience building distributed systems, with strong Python and proficiency in at least one of C++, Rust, or Go.
- Experience building and shipping AI-powered applications, including LLM tool use or agent frameworks, and integrating them with real systems.
- Practical experience deploying ML models for inference on servers or edge devices using PyTorch or a comparable framework.
- Knowledge of messaging, RPC, concurrency, failure handling, and testing for networked software.
- Comfort with Linux, embedded single-board computers, containers, and CI/CD workflows.
- Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- Preferred qualifications include publish/subscribe messaging or IoT protocol experience, Model Context Protocol familiarity, robotics or physical-AI experience, on-device inference with ExecuTorch or ONNX Runtime, LLM serving with vLLM, AI-agent evaluation design, open-source contributions, developer-community support, and connected-device security fundamentals.
