Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and ship features for the managed database service while improving the existing codebase.
- Maintain and evolve internal database platforms, including deployments, automated upgrades, and performance optimization.
- Build and maintain APIs, infrastructure, automation, observability, and database management tooling.
- Contribute to architecture and design reviews and collaborate with developers and DBAs on database best practices.
- Diagnose database incidents and bugs, participate in second-level on-call, and resolve critical production issues with the SRE team.
- Implement long-term fixes that improve scalability, security, reliability, and service continuity.
Requirements
- Strong development experience in Python or Go.
- Strong Linux system administration skills and Bash scripting experience.
- Production administration experience with at least one major relational database, ideally PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Deep understanding of high availability, security, access control, disaster recovery, and service continuity for databases.
- Experience with Ansible, Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines, plus familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus.
- Excellent communication, technical explanation, rigor, autonomy, collaboration, and professional written English skills; comfort working with French-speaking teams.
