Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, review, deploy, monitor, and maintain backend IT products and services.
- Develop clean APIs, integrate applications with required systems and services, and support legacy-system integration.
- Work with databases and tune the performance and scalability of large-scale applications.
- Write and automate unit, integration, API, functional, performance, resilience, and security tests.
- Contribute to sprint planning, refinement, retrospectives, demos, grooming, and cross-functional user-story development.
- Improve continuous delivery processes, resolve incidents and problems, and perform application lifecycle management including decommissioning.
- Set up IT environments, deploy applications to infrastructure, and implement required changes.
- Collaborate with designers, subject-matter experts, Product Owners, and multidisciplinary agile teams.
Requirements
- Experience developing backend applications using languages and frameworks such as Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, or Scala.
- Deep knowledge of object-oriented programming and engineering principles such as SOLID.
- Significant experience building and using service-oriented APIs and tuning large-scale applications.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL database systems such as MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, and Couchbase.
- Ability to write effective unit, integration, and API tests.
- Experience integrating with JavaScript frameworks such as React and AngularJS is a plus.
- Knowledge of immutable infrastructure and infrastructure automation or provisioning tools is desirable.
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies and experience working on a cross-functional agile development team is preferred.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, collaboration, decision-making, and multitasking skills.
