Base Salary
$230k - $270k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and implement solutions to complex technical challenges involving performance, data correctness, scalability, architectural debt, and cross-cutting platform concerns
- Set technical standards, influence architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and improve engineering practices across teams
- Help teams resolve complex or blocked problems and make sound technical decisions
- Partner with product, design, and domain experts to translate evolving requirements into flexible, reliable, maintainable solutions
- Plan, design, implement, and test features with a user-centric product mindset
- Work on data pipelines, caching strategies, distributed processing, complex calculations, and responsive user experiences at substantial data volumes
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience as an engineer building and shipping products, including experience with systems processing millions of records in near real time
- Experience leading product initiatives and taking features from idea through launch
- Expert knowledge of backend system architecture and system design
- Experience with a diverse range of technologies
- Experience with Django or similar Python frameworks is a plus
- Experience with Celery, Temporal, or other distributed worker frameworks is a plus
- Experience with Redis, SQS, AWS or other cloud platforms, and Postgres or other SQL solutions is a plus
- Some full-stack experience with technologies such as TypeScript and React is a plus
- Experience mentoring engineers, serving as a technical lead, and strengthening engineering culture
- Experience shipping features in a fast-paced environment; early-stage startup experience is a plus
