Base Salary
$175k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead multi-quarter technical initiatives from problem framing through rollout.
- Own the architecture of core Tempo components including ingestion, storage, and query.
- Design APIs for human and agent consumption.
- Drive operational excellence against concrete SLOs.
- Partner with product and sibling teams to understand and unblock their needs.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews and design feedback.
- Participate in on-call duties for the services you help build.
- Contribute to open source by engaging with the community and reviewing contributions.
Requirements
- Proven track record of leading complex, multi-quarter technical initiatives.
- Substantial hands-on experience with distributed data systems in production.
- Strong software craftsmanship with a focus on clean and maintainable code.
- Deep experience in Go or other systems languages like Rust, C, or C++.
- Operational mindset with experience in owning production services.
- Customer-focused approach with a pragmatic problem-solving attitude.
- Excellent communication skills in a remote, asynchronous environment.
