Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate backend software platforms that convert cloud security data into workflows, recommendations, automation, and measurable outcomes.
- Develop production APIs and services using Python, FastAPI or similar frameworks, PostgreSQL, and ORM patterns.
- Build data ingestion and processing systems across multiple internal and external sources.
- Design reliable multi-step workflows with retries, state tracking, observability, and failure handling.
- Support AWS-based cloud infrastructure, container delivery, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and multi-environment deployments.
- Contribute to technical designs, architecture and delivery trade-offs, operational safeguards, testing, and production support.
- Work across software engineering, platform, product, and security teams to deliver internal products and improve engineering standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or a combination of coursework and experience or extensive related professional experience.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including production systems experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python 3.10+ and maintainable software design.
- Experience building backend APIs and services with FastAPI or similar modern frameworks.
- Strong database experience with PostgreSQL, ORM patterns, schema design, and data lifecycle management.
- Experience with data ingestion, asynchronous processing, concurrency, distributed execution, and multi-step workflows.
- Experience with AWS services including ECS/Fargate, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Experience with Docker, Terraform or other infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and GitHub Actions.
- Experience with testing, quality gates, dependency checks, deployment controls, observability, alerting, and production supportability.
- Strong engineering judgment, technical design ability, ownership, communication, cross-team collaboration, and ability to resolve ambiguous problems.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity, security findings, vulnerabilities, risk or compliance workflows, secure software design, access control, auditability, or operational security is preferred.
- Experience with internal developer platforms, self-service tools, workflow automation, React/TypeScript, Snowflake, or Databricks is preferred.
