Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain CMS features across backend services and frontend applications.
- Build and enhance Java and Spring Boot services, APIs, microservices, and integration workflows.
- Support frontend development using React JS, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Build and maintain message-driven workflows using RabbitMQ or similar queue technologies.
- Analyze requirements and contribute to feature design, reusable components, shared services, and engineering improvements.
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests, support test planning and defect resolution, and coordinate release readiness with QA.
- Troubleshoot production and non-production issues across frontend, backend, APIs, queues, and databases.
- Support deployments, customer triage, production investigations, and software release rollouts.
- Collaborate with architects, DevOps engineers, Product, UX, QA, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide training for operational staff using internally developed applications.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of software development or full-stack engineering experience, with the posting also specifying 5–7 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong backend development experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, API design, and service integration.
- Frontend development experience with React JS, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with Docker, containerized application development, message queues, databases, Git/GitHub, and cloud environments such as GCP.
- Experience with queue systems such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, Pub/Sub, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with MySQL, Postgres, or NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of unit testing and integration testing, application troubleshooting, and release support.
- Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across Product, QA, UX, DevOps, and engineering teams.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; Comcast may also consider coursework and experience or extensive related professional experience.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and variable schedules as necessary.
