Responsibilities
- Design and build infrastructure, tools, and services for the Workday Adaptive Planning cloud platform.
- Support cloud infrastructure using Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Chef, and Terraform.
- Automate infrastructure and deployments using Terraform, Chef, Jenkins, and Go.
- Plan and implement complex technical projects involving multiple company teams.
- Build and respond to production monitors, including triage, remediation, resolution, and root cause analysis.
- Maintain distributed systems, operational runbooks, monitoring and logging systems, and deployment tools.
- Support Linux and Windows systems, primarily Linux.
- Provide deployment support outside regular office hours and participate in on-call monitoring response.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of DevOps, systems/infrastructure, related operations, or SRE experience.
- At least 3 years of direct experience with AWS infrastructure services and a solid understanding of AWS services and security.
- At least 3 years of experience with a programming language such as Go, Python, or Bash.
- Experience authoring configuration-management scripts and deployment tools using Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, or equivalent.
- Experience with Splunk, Nagios, Elasticsearch, Kibana, CloudWatch, and Logstash, including scaling these systems.
- At least 3 years of experience with cloud databases, Kubernetes and Docker, source control using Git or GitHub, web servers, and cloud load balancers.
- Experience with AWS RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, GCP Cloud SQL, Apache HTTP Server, Nginx, HA-Proxy, AWS ELB, or AWS NLB is helpful.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and collaborate effectively across teams.
