Responsibilities
- Build, scale, and support highly available Ubuntu Linux production and development systems in public cloud environments.
- Use Jenkins, Ansible, Argo CD, Terraform, CloudFormation, Resource Manager, and related tools to maintain infrastructure as code.
- Manage security and availability monitoring and ensure security policies are implemented consistently across environments.
- Deploy and troubleshoot workloads across AWS, Azure, or GCP, including compute, IAM, databases, caching, and related cloud services.
- Build and operate Kubernetes clusters and manage containerized workloads.
- Improve load balancing, service mesh, availability, and uptime.
- Maintain documentation for infrastructure systems.
- Use monitoring tools, including Prometheus, to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Help engineering teams troubleshoot failures and performance problems and participate in on-call rotations.
- Develop custom tools and system integrations using Go, Python, Rust, or Bash.
- Respond to and troubleshoot production infrastructure and networking issues during assigned on-call periods.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of experience with Linux or UNIX systems and related protocols or software.
- Strong knowledge of Linux troubleshooting, memory management, tuning, I/O subsystems, RAID, and security.
- Experience with provisioning tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Terraform.
- Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools.
- Programming aptitude in Go, Python, and Bash.
- Working knowledge of database systems such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Experience building and deploying containers with orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Mesos, or Docker Swarm.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, and routing.
- Strong spoken and written English skills and a collaborative working style.

- Standard working hours are approximately 10 AM–6/7 PM UTC, Monday through Friday.
- Participate in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation approximately every 1.5 months once the team is fully staffed, with rotations approximately every 3–4 weeks during initial staffing.
